it's sad because it's true

When Stephen Hawking died, we didn't really talk a lot about it... because talking about his physics wasn't that exciting and talking about the person, including his politics, what he said about our use of technology, looking the guy in the eye; that would embarrass and shame us. So we simply did not.

We turn our betters into caricatures, into shadows of themselves, so we may stomach them.
